Feature of the week: Fit and Pregnant – meet trainer Amy Ionno!

Hi, my name is Amy Ionno! I am a 38 yr old personal trainer! I have been a trainer for 12 years and I absolutely love it! Finding out I was pregnant at 38 really put the pressure on! I knew I wanted to stay fit and active because that is the lifestyle i am used to! As long as you get the ok from your doctor I recommend cardio 3/4x a week plus i strength train using lighter weights more reps! I feel great and want to inspire those pregnant mommies out there that you can still look and feel great while pregnant!

As an OB/Gyn committed to health and fitness, I love seeing this blog and will steer my patients to it. However, please do your exercise on a BOSU or half exercise ball to decrease the risk of falling and trauma to your pregnant uterus. You may have never fallen before but Murphy’s law and the change in your body and center of gravity can increase that risk.
